Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how No Contact collects, uses, and protects your personal information. We believe in transparency and minimal data collection.

1. Information We Collect

When you use No Contact, we collect the following data:

• Account information: email address and password (stored as a secure hash — we never store your plain-text password)
• Journal entries: text content you write in the journaling feature
• Mood check-ins: mood scores and timestamps you submit
• AI Coach messages: your conversations with the AI coaching feature
• Community posts: content you share in the community section
• Streak data: no-contact streak start dates and history
• Device token: if you opt in to push notifications, we store your device push token

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to provide and improve the No Contact service:

• Displaying your journal entries, mood history, and streaks within the app
• Generating AI Coach responses (see Section 3)
• Showing community posts to other users
• Sending push notifications if you have opted in
• Tracking achievements and milestones

3. AI Coach and Third-Party Processing

The AI Coach feature uses OpenAI's API to generate responses. When you send a message to the AI Coach, your message (and relevant conversation context) is transmitted to OpenAI for processing. This data is subject to OpenAI's privacy policy and data usage terms.

We send only the minimum context needed to generate a helpful response. We do not share your journal entries, mood data, or other personal information with OpenAI unless you include it in a coach conversation.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Cloudflare D1 (SQLite-based database), encrypted at rest. We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS for all data transmission and secure password hashing.

5. No Sale of Personal Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. Period.

6. Analytics and Tracking

We use minimal analytics to understand app usage patterns and improve the service. We do not use third-party tracking services, advertising SDKs, or cross-app tracking. We do not build advertising profiles from your data.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete all associated personal data from our systems.

8. Account Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the app under Profile → Delete Account. You may also request deletion by emailing support@nocontact.app. We will process email deletion requests within 30 days.

9. Push Notifications

Push notifications are optional. If you enable them, we store your device push token to deliver reminders and streak notifications. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings or the app.

10. Children's Privacy

No Contact is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that a user is under 16, we will promptly delete their account and associated data.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
